Children and youth are a vital part of the life of BUC. There are many programs available to nurture and develop Christian values and knowledge through Bible study, arts and crafts, music and special events. The programs are lead by trained leaders as well as congregation members who feel called to share their own Christian understandings with new generations. Sunday Programs for Children
Sunday for Children (Age 3-Grade 6)
There are two services on Sunday mornings (9:00 and 11:00 ). The children come to worship with their families and then come forward for the Children's Story. From there they go back to the hall for music and games with the Youth Minister before going to their classes. The 9:00 service has large class sizes (10-25 kids per group) while 11:00 is smaller and more intimate (3-8 kids per group). We follow the Seasons of the Spirit curriculum. However, we like to try new and creative ways of teaching the message through different styles of learning (art, games, music, etc.). Parents are always welcome to stay with their children if they feel the need.
Nursery and Toddlers
For children up to age 3, this program provides a safe place for infants and toddlers during worship services. Older children will have some structured crafts, games, stories, etc. Teams of youth/adults will assist. The adult co-coordinator is Julie Avery.
Other Programs
Bedford Play Group Co-Operative Play Group for children aged from one to five years, attending with their caregiver. Children participate in games, singing, crafts and other activities during the morning (Mondays or Wednesdays). The co-coordinator is Andrea Chute.
Special Arts Programs
