EMERGENCY PRAYER CHAIN
The people in this group have committed extra time and prayer energy specifically for those who have a sudden or severe medical or personal emergency. The chain is under the supervision of the Pastoral Care Committee and can be activated by calling Margaret Archibald (443-6209). or, if she is not available, by calling Carolyn Crowell (835-0812). If you would like to join in this ministry, please call Margaret Archibald (443-6209).
PRAYER CIRCLE
People are invited to spend a few minutes each day at 9 a.m. or 9 p.m. (or at other times as convenient) lifting up certain members of our community in prayer as well as other members of our community who may be in need at this time. Names appear weekly in the bulletin and on the website and can be suggested by calling the Church Office (835-8497).
COUNSELLING SERVICES
Ministerial staff do not provide ongoing individual, marriage or family counseling. However, staff do meet with people for initial support and reflection and referrals.
PASTORAL CARE TEAM
To supplement the pastoral care ministry of the BUC staff, our congregation has an active Pastoral Care Team. Among other things, the members accompany families living with serious illness, experiencing separation and divorce, or dealing with grief. They also visit and read to persons with diminished eyesight, isolated ones, the elderly, and others in time of need. If you know of someone in need of such assistance, or are interested in training for this ministry, please contact the Pastoral Care Team Liaison, Sue Stewart, at 826-9474 or

HOSPITAL VISITING
The United Church Women units provide much pastoral care within BUC. Get well and sympathy cards are sent, and flowers and gifts are delivered on special occasions, such as Christmas and Easter. All UCW members provide care and support to each other on an ongoing basis.
SHAWL MINISTRY
Prayer Shawls are made by volunteer knitters who offer prayers while knitting the shawls. They are blessed by our faith community and given to people to offer: comfort in times of distress, gratitude and joy in times of transition and celebration, hope in times when hope is waning.
Prayer Shawls are manifestations of the love and care of our faith community and its prayers for the well being of all its members. Volunteer knitters and donated yarn are always welcome. For more information, please contact Linda Morrison, coordinator of the Prayer Shawl Ministry at 835-7798.
